Privacy Policy

Keela exists so small groups of friends can see each other every day. We built it to be private by design: there are no public profiles, no feeds, no followers, and no advertising. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we never do.

What we collect

  • Account information. When you sign in with Apple we receive your name (or an Apple-provided alias) and a unique identifier. If you sign in by phone, we store your phone number.
  • Group information. Group names, member lists, photos you set, and the call times your group chooses.
  • Call metadata. Whether a call happened, who joined or declined, and connection quality — so streaks and call history work. We do not record the calls themselves.
  • Device tokens.Push notification tokens so your phone can ring when it's time for your group's call.

What we never do

  • We never record or store your video or audio calls.
  • We never sell your personal data.
  • We never show advertising in Keela.
  • We never make your profile, groups, or activity publicly visible. Only members of your groups can see you.

How calls work

Video calls are carried in real time over encrypted connections by our media infrastructure provider (LiveKit). Media flows through servers only for the duration of the call and is not retained after the call ends.

Where data lives

Account and group data is stored with our backend provider (Supabase) in the United States, protected by row-level security so each person can only access data for their own groups.

Analytics on this website

This marketing website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the page (for example, which sections are read and whether the download button is clicked). The Keela app itself contains no third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.

Your choices

  • You can delete your account at any time in the app (You → Settings). Deletion removes your auth account and personal data; group ownership transfers to another member.
  • You can leave any group at any time.
  • You can control ring behavior with pauses, snoozes, and quiet hours.

Children

Keela is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
